Great leadership is a daily commitment, for yourself and for your team. Inspired action comes from within. Here are some tips to recharge for authenticity to shine through which gives a sense of purpose, a sense of self, and a confidence in who we are.
In order to recharge the body a relaxation state is vital. The quickest way to access a relaxation state is to access the para sympathetic nervous system. The body is either in a stressed state also known as “fight or flight” or relaxed state. Due to daily pressures the body is most often in the stress response.
1. To access a relaxation state, take a deep breath! When you take a deep breath, the vagus nerve in the stomach is stretched which sends a message to the brain to stimulate the para sympathetic nervous system or relaxation response. Daily practice of deep breathing will turn on the relaxation response so that over time it becomes automatic. Also ensures more oxygen to be delivered to the cells of the body to improve energy. Start with 5 minutes per day increasing to 15 minutes.
2. Appreciating oneself allows non judgement and authenticity to be expressed. Each day acknowledge 3 things you appreciate about yourself and how it makes you feel?
This allows higher vibrating emotions such as joy, love and peace to be released to the cells in the body which improves energy and enhances strengths.
3. Dance or choose an activity daily which “gets you into state”! The ideal time is in the morning to increase energy levels and commence the day feeling “alive”. This allows a positive state of well being and high energy levels to take inspired action and allow creativity to flow.
